Please, I'd like to know if I can use the word miserable to mean someone is very poor, like this:
He is miserable (= He is very poor )

I would say not really.
Miserable can suggest poverty, if you use it about things, e.g. he lives in a miserable flat.
But for people it doesn't really mean anything but sad.
