Hello, teachers. Could you help me with the following sentences?
Which sentence is correct?
1 The annual average rainfall in London is larger than that in Hong Kong
2 The annual average rainfall in London is larger than in Hong Kong.
If neither of them is acceptable, could you tell me how to express this in English?

They both sound correct to me. The first one sounds a bit more formal.
