Hi,
I wanna ask, why most of American movies or TV series don't use subtitles?
In my country(Taiwan) always use subtitles, not only for the different language programs or movies.
Even local TV series or programs, etc, all of them use subtitles.
Is that any reasons American don't use subtitles?

(I know most of western countries don't use subtitles, I mean, in their language) |

It is very interesting that it caught your attention why most westerners don't use subtitles. Actually, subtitles are most often designed for either 1.) making sure that the audience can follow, 2). when the audio is not really clear and 3.) when the audio has been translated to other languages. I am seeing a lot of english movies having subtitles especially those which have been designed to be sold out to other countries.
