In the sentence"he was caught and was beaten",can we leave out the second"was"?What's the rules of this kind of omission?

Yes. You can usually leave out the second "be" verb if it's the same form.
Examples:
They are walking and talking.
He was happy and busy.
They were followed and photographed.
You can ask if you have another example. |
