Does "nothing less" below mean "nothing without repentance and atonement"?
Repentance and atonement; nothing less will avail them after the storm has passed, and the sedulous preparation of defences and palliatives against the return of the storm. _________________ Hiromichi |

That's a strange quote for me, but based on the grammar, it means that nothing less than repentance and atonement are needed. That is, both of them are needed. |
