All three will help! I think it is important when you are practicing your English writing to read it to yourself after you write. This will help you to catch some mistakes and to understand how your English might sound to others when you use it.

Reading will help you because you can learn many new vocabulary words. Sit down with a book, a dictionary with a good pronunciation guide, and a notebook. Write down new vocabulary and try to determine what it means based on the context (how it is used in the sentence) before you look it up in the dictionary. Figuring out the meaning based on the context will help to build your confidence. Many times you can figure out the meaning of a word simply by how it is used in the sentence. Looking up words and trying to use them in a new sentence can also help to build your confidence and vocabulary.

Listening is a great way to learn as well. Be careful of where you are listening. I would recommend news channels (ex. CNN) over other shows such as sitcoms. Some shows use lazy pronunciation which will teach you the wrong ways to speak. Some people recommend the BBC. I think that is a good choice. However, there is a difference between British English and American English. Some words are spelled differently, some are pronounced differently, and there are different vocabulary choices in both American and British English.

I hope this is a good start for you (and anyone else reading this post). If you'd like more help, please visit my website: http://www.guidemywords.com.

Good luck and God Bless!

The best way to learn real english, as communicated in the oral and written forms, is to either get a keypal/penpal, or to talk to your friends and family in english. You will not learn any language, nor it's vocabulary without repetition. Yes, those exercises you get may be tedious, but talking to others can be a different and fun way to do so!
Good luck! Very Happy
