The man was found drunken lying in the street.
"Lying in the street." This is a present participle (adverb phrase) modifying what, found?
Thanks. |

Hi BMO -
The sentence should be
The man was found drunk lying in the street.
The construction 'drunken' is an attributive adjective and therefore can only take position modifying a noun. You could say the drunken man was found lying in the street
The construction lying in the street is qualifying the verb 'found'.
