Why does China want to use force to attack Taiwan? Are they jealous of Taiwans success? Scared of it's freedom loving people? Is Taiwan really a true part of China? Just ask the natives on Taiwan and they will tell you. They never had no part of China and never want anything to do with China. China is simply trying to take something that is not theirs to take!

Exactly Mr.Admiral is right. Both China and India want to occupy as many space as they can.
Taiwan and Kashmir problem is the same but only difference is Kashmir is occupied by indian troops. Both countries claim that they support human right's but infact they violate human rights.
Why not,let the people of taiwan and Kashmir to decide their own destiny?
Infact evryone is greedy here.....they are all *beep*.
Let's pray for hope...

If you present me one rose
I'll respond by two.... Crying or Very sad

TAIWAN 's part of CHINA in history.
TAIWAN ,just like HK,will be part of GREAT CHINA forever!

just a few months ago,China unveiled a law authorizing an attack if Taiwan moves toward formal independence,

just a few days ago, president of guomindang(国民党)visits the mainland

today,president of qinmiondang(亲民党)visits the mainland

they all consider taiwan as part of china
nearly all conturies in the world CONSIDER taiwan AS just a province of GREAT CHINA.

Do you remember WWII? In this period, Taiwan was a part of Japan. Actually, Japan lost the war, and released Tiwan, Korea, Manchuria and other outside of Japan at the San Francisco Peace Treaty in 1952. It means that Tiwan had been a part of Japan until 1952. However, goumindang started occuping Taiwan from 1949. It is an illeagal occupation, right? So I think that Tiwan has not been not any part of any countries since 1952. Because both of Korea could be independet of Japan after WWII. Tiwan might have been a part of old china dinasties in a couple of thousands years, but Qing (last Diansty of China) had released Taiwan as well as Korea in 1895. From that, Tiwan and Korean have not been a part of China, have they? Now a day, both Korea are approved as an independent coutories from whole world. So I think that Taiwan should be approved as same as Korea.

Any European countries don't claim that Africa is a part of them, right? Desipte they had occupied African contories for more than 700years until WWII!!

However, my Taiwanese friend doesn't expect both Taiwan's idenependent and becoming a part of China.....He said current situation is best.

You could also try to imagine that Taiwan belongs to Japan.

You should ask how many people in Taiwan support neither of them to visit China.
You should ask even those who support them to visit China if they think Tawian is part of China.
No matter we are BLUE , Green or Orange whatever color we are, we are NO part of China.

MarchJ, tell me, what are the reason of the people?

The reason of what?
The reason of Not admitting we are part of China?

The official name of Taiwan is exactly "Taiwan Province."
But, to many people, it's just a name. A name we HAVEN'T changed yet.
The real fact is that China is really nothing to do with our daily life, unless we choose to work in China ,that's another story.
Take me as an example, I'm 30, have a ok job, ok life, just as common as most of the people here. Being asked , what do I think of China? ,all the news I learned about China is how they try to attact us if we mention any single word of Independence & how we were interrupted by Chinawhen taking part in international activities.
Many people choose KMT is not becasue they want to go back China one day, but they just simply hope to keep the peaceful situation between China and Taiwna. They neither want to be independent nor go back China. As for me, I do hope we can be independet one day PEACEFULLY.
I'm not sure if I have answered your quesiton.

MarchJ

Taiwan belongs to China, if you don't accept that, you can just get out of that island, you have the freedom of thinking about Independence, but it doesn't mean that you have the right to handle the future of Taiwan-- a PROVINCE of CHINA.

If you don't think that Taiwan is a part of China, Please answer me the following two simple questions first:

1. Which language do you use to speak and write? Is that Taiwanese? (Is there anyone in the world who knows that language?) Of course Chinese!

2. See your Passport, Isn't that a passport of "Republic of China" (ROC)? In case you can't read

and to the guy in Germany:

Es tut mir sehr Leid, dass ich Ihre Meinung ber Taiwan nicht sehr gut verstehen kann. Hier ist eine Frage dazu: Was werden Sie dran denken, wenn Bayern auch unabhngig von Deutschland sein will? Wollen Sie-- als ein Deutscher, Ihres eingenen Vaterland getrennt lassen?

You answered my question.
You are right.

However, Taiwan now is already a fully independent country and it has an independent government, which has the full souvereignty over Taiwan.

To tell the truth, perhaps the situation now is the best, not that Taiwan would totally belong, not that it would totally be different.

The declaration of independence is not need, because, according to the history, the Republik of China has already been independent 1912, when it was made.

However, chinese government shouldn't be too stupid, perhaps by the time everything will be ok.
But think of the feasts in Taiwan, 5. April, New Year, Moon feast, think of the language, and think that you are in some respects more chinese than some chinese on the mainland, because most possibly you are han-zou.

However, what the chinese government does is because of the past, perhaps they are still angry that Japan invaded Taiwan 1895.

China becomes Republic 1912.

However, the fact that Taiwan belongs to "China" is because of the movement of Guomindang under Chiang 1949, where the Republic of China consists.

That's why Taiwan shouldn't say that they belong to the communist party, that's why the situation now is perhaps the best. But perhaps a friendship is also good.

I agree with this point.

As a guy from the mainland, I do not care which party is in charge of China, no matter R.O.C or P.R.C, what I expect is a strong country, with mainland and taiwan, for all the chinese in the world.
