Hi, todayiscoolday Smile
I'm very happy that you are looking forward to coming to japan.
I'm a japanese girl Wink

Which part of japan are you thinking of visiting?
Tokyo? Osaka? or anything else??
As Yuka923 (I think SHE is a japanese, too, according to her name..) said, I'm really recomend you to eat SUSHI!
Don't go to MacDonald's... you should try japanese foods!
I also recommend OKONOMIYAKI, which is very famouse food in OSAKA.
(you can eat okonomiyaki anywhere in japan, though!)
Sushi is sometimes a bit expensive, but at "Kaiten-zushi," the sushi restaurant, we can eat sushi in very reasonable prices.
If you're a sweets lover, I also recommend japanese traditional sweets such as AN-MITSU and KAKIGORI (bloody good for hot summer time!).
Hmm~ yamyam Laughing

About buying some goods, you can find many things in Tokyo..
(It's up to what kind of stuffs you want to get. though)
And if you really want to feel JAPAN, I strongly recommend to visit KYOTO, which was Japanese anciant capital.

hope u enjoy your time in Japan~

Hello,I am also a Japanese girl. I live in near Osaka.
I recomend you to eat some Japanese sweets as sky.jp did.
I heard some foreigners don't like Japanese sweets because they are so sweet. but Japanese sweets are so beautiful to see. If you go to Kyoto, you can see many sweets shop. Please try it.
Oyhers I want to tell you are some frozen foods sold in supermarkets. You know in Japan, we have a custom of lunch box, so many frozen foods are sold. you may not able to bring them back, but they are also Japanese unique culture, I think.
I hope you can get much information from Japanese and enjoy your visiting. Very Happy

Do you know where in Japan you will be traveling? It is a very long country. Travel in Hokkaido is different from travel in Kyushu or Okinawa (in one you need a jacket, in the other you need shorts and a swim suit).

Hi, I'm so happy to hear that you come to Japan on this summer! I was USA until this May and I made many Taiwanees friends in there so I like Tiwanees. Very Happy
Anyway I'll tell you some Japanese information. First, you should decide which area do you wanna go in Japan because there are many cities in Japan and it takes much cost to go to many areas. I'm live in Tokyo now, I think there are many interesting things in Tokyo, shopping, Tokyo tower, many good restaurants, and so on. If you wanna see Japanese hitorical things, you should go to Kyoto. I really wanna go Kyoto now♪. Hokkaido (north side of Japan) and Okinawa ( south of Japan) are so different from other area I think theses areas are also fun!
I hope you can enjoy Japan!! If you have any questions, please let me know. ^ ^v

Tokyo, eh? Much to do and see.
You can buy many souveniers at Asakusa (there is a temple with a famous big red lantern).
Shinjuku is amazing to see at night. You can enjoy a spectacular view of Tokyo from the Tokyo Metropolitan Tower. The elevator ride up is free.
See the friendly Goth-Cosplay people of Harajuku. Cool
Get outside of Tokyo and take a day trip (or an overnight trip) to Nikko. It is well worth the visit.
Have dim-sum in Yokohama's Chinatown.
See the Giant Buddha in Kamakura.
Take a day to visit the mountains around Kawaguchiko. From there, you can take a bus up the side of Mount Fuji. If you are REALLY adventurous, you can hike up Fuji during the night to see the sun rise from the top. Shocked
