I have thought it over and have decided that all men know that I (like all women) wear knickers and if the outline shows through my tight trousers then they are seeing something they know about. I should hate it to be thought that I have no knickers on.

I would hate to wear a thong, and would hate to wear bicycle pants. I shall keep to my normal knickers.

My husband agrees with me.

What you wear is up to you if you feel comfortable. Not for anyone.
Other choices I said are only in fashion and to fit the requirement of some fashion-conscious women. They just want to look more fasinating without pantie lines on it that looks nice in some outfits.
What sick mind would ever think a woman didn't wear it?

I guess you mean thong

when we wear a thong, our outline of body wouldn't be shown even when we wear very tight pants.

and we can also wear some special underwear like "lineless underwaer" which wouldn't separate our a-s-ses into several parts.

I have decided I shall stick to wearing ordinary knickers. They are comfortable. I don't care if the outine can be seen when I am wearing tight trousers.

Yeah, that's what I mean. In Hong Kong, wearing such a thing is pretty common.

i only know knickers to be loose fitting short pants that are gathered at the knee, but after looking it up, of course there is a different word for underwear in UK.

are knickers only worn by women in UK? what about men? if the definition of short pants was true in Scotland, it would show under a kilt?!

another word for a thong (that i've heard of where i live) is butt floss! Yuk!

In the UK the term for the intimate undergarment worn by females is almost universally *knickers.* This what Americans call *panties.* The term *panties* is known through American TV and movies, and curiously, the line shown by knickers through tight-fitting trousers is often called the *pantie-line.* However, if you go into a British store and say you want to buy some panties you will be directed to the knicker-department.

There are many kinds of knickers, varying from thongs, high leg knickers, briefs, shorts, French knickers, tangas, tie knickers, strings, and so on, but the generic term is always *knickers,*

But the problem of showing a pantie-line does not come up very often because most girls in Britain wear skirts, and very few of these are tight fitting around the bottom.

Incidentally, the word *knickers* is often used as a mild expletive, particularly by upper-class young ladies. For example, Oh knickers! Ive left my mobile in the office!

(The mobile is what the Brits call a cellphone)

And finally, no self-respecting Scotsman would be seen dead wearing anything under his kilt. There was recently an embarrassing shot of one of the Scottish Highlanders presenting a wreath at the War Memorial in Whitehall, London, and the wind caught his kilt and showed without doubt that he, like his colleagues, wore no underwear under the kilt.

Men, by the way, wear underpants under their trousers. No British girl ever wears underpants; they are strictly for men. And no man ever wears knickers; they are strictly for women. However, most British underpants have no opening at the front (as Y-fronts do). The difference between the design of men's underpants and womens knickers is very slight -- mailnly in the extent of the gusset.

To iitimone7 (and to anyone else interested in Scotland)

Make sure you get to Edinburgh. Not only is it a beautiful city it has many shops selling Scottish costume for males and females. They will help you find the right tartan and advise you about the correct wear.

And while you are there, make sure you try the haggis. It makes a fabulus meal.
