Does "walk" mean their sentences are suspended?
Background information is below.
NAGOYA -- The Nagoya District Court gave two prison guards who killed an inmate by spraying him with a high-pressure water hose suspended sentences Friday, ruling they had not intended to hurt the prisoner.
The pair received suspended sentences for the December 2001 incident at Nagoya Prison, which drew global condemnation and led the government to improve prison conditions. _________________ Hiromichi |

To "walk" in reference to a prison sentence would mean there will be no further consequences. Although not technically always the case, a suspended sentences many times does mean the person get to "walk."
