What if somebody uses a different one, not mentioned in your poll
I'm very much of the opinion that torrent is a waste of time. The action of searching for the file you want to dowload, usually takes ages... The only good thing about torrent is you don't have to worry about anything when you manage to find a good source. That's the biggest advantage of torrent, once found = downloaded
How about P2P programs such as eMule or DC++?
You know, it really pisses me off when a user from whom I'm downloading the file, disconnects without even letting me know about it.
Torrent vs P2P
Think it's a draw

Sorry with this poll. I think Torrents vs. P2P will is and with tie. I'm using eMule and I can tell this good program. But and in torrent and in P2P you must be carefull about spyware, bugs etc. I never heard of DC++ so I can't tell you something about it. |

Well, in terms of efficiency, torrent is way ahead of the older P2P networks such as eDonkey (eMule is just a client for it). Its Achilles heel is the dependency on a dedicated tracker and lack of search function. The search function is being worked on but the tracker is probably going to stay there for a long time. All in all though, I find popular files are best obtained through torrent while hard to find stuff is more accessible through the well established eDonkey. |

Global and per-torrent speed limiting
Quickly resumes interrupted transfers
Typical memory use less than 6 MB |

I think that the best client is BitComet. It's a very easy to use. The best torrent search enginee is isohunt.com. I usually use it when i want to have new game, move etc. |
