I like big cities better.

Your intent might be expressed a bit more elegantly, and concisely, by saying "I prefer big cities" -- the tacit reference to "small cities" is understood then, as "prefer" always carries with it a notion of relative valuation, unlike "like". _________________ "This is insolence up with which I will not put."
