The below is a title of a book. I wonder what interpretation native English speakers will make when they see this title.
The Embedded Corporation:
Corporate Governance and Employment Relations in Japan and the United States _________________ Hiromichi |

Given the use of the word in recent coverage of the war in Iraq by "embedded" news reporters..........
I'd have to guess....
a comparison of the means and degree to which (Govt.) - Corp. -
Labo(u)r - collude to achieve capital/labo(u)r relations with an eye on the bottom line.
I wonder what what non-native English sreakers will make of the title? |

Thank you again.
FYI this book was written by Sanford M. Jacoby is the Howard Noble Professor of Management, Policy Studies, and History at the University of California, Los Angeles. His books include Modern Manors: Welfare Capitalism since the New Deal (Princeton) and Employing Bureaucracy: Managers, Unions, and the Transformation of the Workplace in the 20th Century (Erlbaum). _________________ Hiromichi |
