I think Osama bin Laden died in December 2001.

KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Osama bin Laden is "probably" dead, but former Taliban leader Mullah Omar is alive, Afghan President Hamid Karzai has said. "I would come to believe that [bin Laden] probably is dead," Karzai said on CNN's "Late Edition" on Sunday. "But still, you never know. He might be alive. Five months ago, six months ago, I was thinking that he was alive. "The more we don't hear of him, and the more time passes, there is the likelihood that he probably is either dead or seriously wounded somewhere."

Israeli intelligence: Bin Laden is dead, heir has been chosen TEL AVIV -- Osama Bin Laden appears to be dead but his colleagues have decided that Al Qaida and its insurgency campaign against the United States will continue, Israeli intelligence sources said. The Israeli sources said Israel and the United States assess that Bin Laden probably died in the U.S. military campaign in Afghanistan in December. They said the emergence of new messages by Bin Laden are probably fabrications, Middle East Newsline reported.

al-Wafd, Wednesday, December 26, 2001 Vol 15 No 4633

News of Bin Laden's Death and Funeral 10 days ago

Islamabad - A prominent official in the Afghan Taleban movement announced yesterday the death of Osama bin Laden, the chief of al-Qa'da organization, stating that binLaden suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death. The official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated to The Observer of Pakistan that he had himself attended the funeral of bin Laden and saw his face prior to burial in Tora Bora 10 days ago. He mentioned that 30 of al-Qa'da fighters attended the burial as well as members of his family and some friends from the Taleban. In the farewell ceremony to his final rest guns were fired in the air. The official stated that it is difficult to pinpoint the burial location of bin Laden because according to the Wahhabi tradition no mark is left by the grave. He stressed that it is unlikely that the American forces would ever uncover any traces of bin Laden.

Here is a photo from what I thnk is a fake video from October 2004. It is not Osama bin Laden who is on the video:

There are lots of audio tapes alleged to be from Osama bin Laden,. Al-Zawahiri and Al-Zarqawi, showing up now and then. Many of them are fake.

After my opinion it is the video tapes which count. The audio tapes are too easy to create faked.

I think Osama bin Laden, if he was alive today, would have sent more video tapes, like he did in 2001. Here are two photos of the real Osama bin Laden on video tapes from 2001:

cansouth: thank you for your information.
I think Bin Laden is possibly dead right now, but his organization wants to inspire their members, so that there is a rumor that Bin Laden is still alive now.

Who really knows if he is dead? No one is sure. If he was, you know Bush and his cronies would take full advantage and publically declare it. The sad thing is Bush himself said, "I truly am not that concerned about him." But, then again, Bush is an incompetent moron of a President, so I am not surprised.

joon_star, America has no military interest in China or checking China's growth. Bushs' goal is, and has been, Iraq and Iran. He wants to control the region and its oil supply, even if he has to flat-out lie to get into the countries. We have no reason whatsoever to worry about China. Bush and his administration are full of idiots who are only interested in funnelling money from the government to their cronies in the private sector, anyways.

It is not hard for al Qaeda and other terrorists organizations to inspire their members because Bush, idiotically, supports Israel which causes alot of tension and dislike for America in the Mid-East, not to mention our invading of a soveriegn nation under false pretenses.

Pavilion, in your reply, you wrote "Bush is an incompetent moron of a President, so I am not surprised. ". For such kind of comments, I have heard many times, either from US's media or from US people. But I can not understand why Bush can be re-elected in 2004. If in US, so many people didn't support him, how can Bush get votes?

Haha, yes, he does. We call them "Bushisms". Like "strategery" instead of "strategy". And saying stupid things like, "They misunderestimate me." (It should be "They underestimate me.") Laughing Laughing

In my think, Americans are losing confidence. So they voted a man who looks like to work for only Americans.

I think because USA is a culture mixer, which mixed with so many races' principle and so many different minds, and a freedom symbolic country, people of USA can not unified. Just like the temper to the war, inside USA, some people are against it, while some for it. Maybe, some of American like Bush.
I think we can just understand it in this way.

Yes, the US has many different cultures. We have American, European, African-American, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, ect. cultures. Diversity is a great thing. We can be unified, evident in the 9/11 attacks. The reason people are not unified in the war with Iraq is because many people do not believe that the war is legitiment or even neccessary because we never finished the goal we set out to accomplish, which was to capture Osama bin Laden. We were united against Afghanistan, but splintered when Bush decided to further his own selfish interests in Iraq.

When you only have two parties in your political system it tends to polarise the electorate.
All the Democrats hate Bush, but Kerry would have been no better, probably.
The fact is Bush WAS elected.
The Democrats have many supporters in the media so there is a relentless attack on TV, in the press, and on radio against just about everything Bush does.
America's enemies understand that if they can hold out long enough the Democrats will be elected and will run away from the Middle East, just as they ran away from Somalia, Lebanon, etc..
America's problem is that when they go to war, they go with one hand tied behind their back because of gutless politicians.
If you are going to war at all - and it should be a last resort- you go full out.
