I need your recommendations on commas in conditional sentences. Do you think it is necessary to put a comma between the main clause and if clause?

THANKS FOR YOUR CONCERN

Hi Senay,

My opinion is that you don't need a comma for such a simple sentence. However, the rule most people follow says to use a comma in a conditional sentence when the "if clause" comes first.

I took a look on the web to see what I could find. Most grammar sites simply say you should use a comma. Here's one which says a comma is usually used:
Quote:
If the "if" clause comes first, a comma is usually used. If the "if" clause comes second, there is no need for a comma.

My advice is to use a comma if your work will be graded, but use your own judgement at other times.
