Hello,
Is it absolutely necessary with the following sentence to use the present perfect?
Since that night, I haven't let Blacky go out at night
Since that night, I don't let Black go out at night.
(meaning: Because of that event I won't let Blacky go out at night)
I'd really appreciate your assistance.

I guess the structure "Since that night, I don't let Black go out at night." is correct.Because let somebody do something is a momentary action.
