Is there a serious mistake in the following sentences
My opinion is that Vienna is beautiful.
or must it be : IN MY OPINION ...... or are both versions okay?
A student used that structure in an essay.

Hi Klafterreith,
Both versions are acceptable although the use of "my opinion is that" or "in my opinion" is discouraged in an essay as it is understood that the writer is voicing his or her opinion.
