I understand both sentence #1 can be transformed into #2 or #3 below below.
What is the difference in nuance between #2 and #3?
1. I did not hear the news until yesterday.
2. Not until yesterday did I hear the news.
3. It was not until yesterday that I heard the news.

All 3 have the same meaning. The only difference is one of emphasis.
1. Emphasis on "I".
2. Emphasis on "Not until yesterday".
3. Emphasis on the passive voice.
Good luck!!! _________________ - Mike

You also put emphasis on 'not until yesterday'. |
