Dear all,
Do you know a Beatle song called "Tomorrow never knows"? This song was written by John Lennon in 1966.
I thought the title simply means "you never know what happens tomorrow" and was a sort of common phrase in English.
However, when I happened to talk about it with an Australian, I was quite surprised to hear that there was no such a strange saying in English.
Do you think "Tomorrow never knows" doesn't make any sense and it is something made up by John Lennon just for a song title?
I'd really appreciate your help.

The title and lyrics to "Tomorrow never knows" are poetry. Poets, like John Lennon, will play with language to create new meanings. I would agree that the title probably means, "we never know what will happen tomorrow." But it can mean different things to different people. The phrase is not commonly used.
Good Luck!!!! _________________ - Mike
