Hi, there!
Today is mother's day! What would you/ have you done to your mom? Sending her flowers and cards? Helping her with house work?
Just watched a TV-show yesterday, where two girls, together with their dad, wrote a song for their mother and sang it along. The lyric went like that" Have I told you lately, that I love you...", which moved their mom to tears...So what would you do to your mom? _________________ Do what you love and love what you do. |

Thank you, mimifly, for sharing your experience with me! I should say that it was very sweet of you for buying a cake for your mom! And I think the big family reunion meant a lot to her!
As for me, I didn't do anything special...I just hugged her and wished her a happy mother's day...you know, Chinese people are always reluctant to show their feelings out...So I think it was a big step for me... _________________ Do what you love and love what you do. |

my mom is a plain vegetable seller. she doesn't have a good education and a very smart brain and even a pretty apperance. but in my eye, she is the most beautiful and best mother in the whole world. mother gave birth to me,brought me up, paid for my tuition and send me to the university. however, all of the expense comes from her hard work. no matter it rains or snows, no matter it is hot or cold, my mom stands beside the road and sells the flash vegetables to the customers. each time her tired figure is caught , i will burst into tears. mom works for my sister and i and the whole family for many years but i never heard her complaint, even a word. she is so kind that i can not even recall one time she beat me. my mom is fifty years old, but she still sells vegetable for us day and night. the buddha told us that the real love do not requair payback.my mom, just the right one who gives the real love to us but never expect our repay.mom is a plain person in the world, but she is a great mom in the universe.mom, my mom, my dear mom , i love you!!! |

Wow, dear friend, I'm really proud of your mom and you! You know, being a Beijing native, both my mom and me havent experienced the same things as you have. I was deeply touched by what you have done and I highly respected your mom's work.
But i cant help but wonder--have you ever told your mom that how deep your love is for her face to face? i think she would be very much inspired and motivated by that.
Good luck! _________________ Do what you love and love what you do. |

Every year I give presents to my mother. This year I gave her an apron. My mother wears an apron when she does housework every time, so I decided to present it to her.
Sometimes I quarrel with her and fight. After we quarreled I regret having a defiant attitude. On mothers day I tried to say to my mother thank you, but I couldnt I was embarrassed.
Someday I want to be able to say to my mother I always thank you. |

Ashlee Sun:
Hi, I agree with you!
Chinese people are not likely to say love to their parents. But whenever we try to express our feelings in a comparatively indirect way, we will probably feel good. And I believe that our parents will get what we mean to them.
The other day, while I was at home, my father seemed interested in how my mobile phone works. He asked me how I could send a short message.
I sent one to myself as an example shown to him. Can you guess what I wrote? "我和爸爸在一起。"(meaning "My father and I are together.")Actually, I had considered writing like "I love you, dad." But, I just didn't feel at ease. So I decided to change my words into some indirect way like the above. Anyway, I suppose he could know that I love him sincerely. Am I right? What do you think?

hi, jim,
sorry for the late reply! Been super busy preparing for the finals!
yes, i totally agree with you. i thought what you did to your father was very sweet and i'm proud of you! and i believe your father had felt it too and for the same reason, he didnt let it out either. i always believe that introverted people are more sensitive. to be honest, i didnt expect those loving words were actually from a guy...no offence, but i always believe that was sort of girls stuff...but anyway, really nice to know you!
so, i wonder...have you ever celebrated fathers day? if so, what have you done to your father?
talk to you later! have a nice day.
