1. What to say on the card when your colleague is leaving?
2. What does lark mean in this sentence?
One day for a lark, a shepherd boy decided to shout with all his might

3. Can anyone tell me the process of CA elction? What is primary election? Do you have to register everyyear if you want to vote?

1. You can say some combination of things like:
"I will miss you."
"Good luck (where you are going)."
"It has been nice working with you."
etc.

2. for a lark = for fun

3. A primary election is largely to determine who is in the final election. For instance, the candidate who wins the Democratic primary will oppose the candidate who wins the Republican primary in the final election (held at a later date). There may be other items on the ballot, also.

You don't have to register every year. You do need to register at least once and vote from time to time (though not in every election) to keep your registration current. Your registration also needs to reflect your current address. If you move, you need to register again.
