No need to argue on which country is the best...400 years of slavery ruined Greece and Turks got absolutly nothing to improve their culture. They show OUR monuments as theirs and they keep using OUR Konstantinoupolis as their Instanbul...
Although i've never been in turkey (racial empathy) I heard that its a very nice country that forces women to do things that were abolished in the European mid-ages.Democracy is not something that Turkey can be proud of.
Many attempts are made so that Turkey can join EU but i disagree...As i disagree with Cyprus' entrance. They are not fit geographically.Turkey and Cyprus are to be considered Asian countries since they are not in Europe Continent..
Enough flattering...
I dont have exact numbers of tourists but I am sure that Turkey is MUCH bigger than Greece and therefore more tourists are to be lured by a promotional campaign.
I want to visit Greece's previous archeological sites (that are in Turkey now),like Smirni and other coastial places...
I wish the best for Turkey in tourist promotion since this will be a good lesson on how to become better hosts and bring down that wall of anachronism...[/u]

Is this the propaganda they feed you within Greek families and within the Greek community?

You're mixing up issues and portraying them (By serving your propagandist views) so well.

But hey- I can make the same arguments for any country in the world

pk_plasma Learn to love your fellow Turk (youll only receive love n return)..
pk_plasma we are neighbours...
pk_plasma once hatred against Turks stops in Greece-friendship will evolve.
pk_plasma our only chance at peace is friendhsip.
pk_plasma get rid of pan-hellinic ideas, of the once upon a time greatness of the Greek empire etc, Currently you are simply a small state on the outskirts of Europe.
Greek you share more with Turks than you do with the British Very Happy Laughing Very Happy
You have NO OTHER CHOICE... YOU HAVE TO live with the Turks as your neighbours.
plasma, After all 550 years have passed since you lost Istanbul-do you honestly think you'll ever get it back despite all your propaganda?
plasma , BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE others look at yourslef. UP UNTIL 1991 TURKS AND MUSLIMS WERE NOT PERMITTED BY GREEK LAW TO PURCHASE REAL ESTATE or anything of significant value...
plasma-what happened to your ancient 'democratic' values? Do they 'change according to circumstances???

plasma you have no other choice but to befriend and understand Turkey. Your simple view of Turkey is far from the truth...
I suggest you to do some reading and educate yourself before making your mockery
Respect Smile

U have no idea of what is going on around u,do u?
How old are u?5?Coz thats what u show me with your answer.

Lets start....
Hector(nice Greek name...grats on that) I cant love Turks.
Hector I wish we weren't neighbours
Hector,I cant see a friendship evolving.Customs and religion is a matter...
Hector,if I am not friend with you, will u make war on me?
Hector, get rid of the pan-Turk ideas of the once upon a time great empire of Ottomans.Currently you are simply a wannabe state on the more outskirts of Europe.Turks u share more with Kurdistan than with civilized Europeans.
Konstantinoupolis...and the once glorious church of Agia Sofia, now serves as your museum for toilet paper.DISGRACE...PATHETIC...
Hector the problem with the propaganda u keep mentioning is that this is not a propaganda.I am posting my thoughts. If u see that post as propaganda then I have to inform you that u have been brain-washed by an unknown alien force....Beware or u r lost for ever...
Hector,as I said in my previous post,I've never been in Turkey but I would like to go to see that misery with my own eyes.maybe you are right.Maybe things have been better since some years ago.General outlines are the same man.Try seeing the whole situation from the outside.Imagine you r alone in the space and u can only see Greece and Turkey.Things will clear up for you.U'll see blue in contrast with red. There can be no mauve.U know that,I know that.Everyone does.

In conclusion,Hector, don't judge my knowledge on History and my educational level.U've always made conclusions fast and thats your problem.

Your post is hardly worth bothering with. It just shows wisdom and the honesty of the words of a Greek journalist, Ariana Ferentinou who said Every school year since the age of six I was taught why I should hate the Turks. You can read here more about Greek myths : http://www.turkishdailynews.com.tr/article.php?enewsid=39806

This imposed mentality can be very easily seen in your nonsense post. Even my 6 years old cousin is more mature than you are.

LOL, Too bad that you cant change it Very Happy you have to live it, sorry to disappoint you. Wink

Wow really? Would you like to re-launch crusades also? It was a Greek Grand Logothete who remarked famously, 'Better the Sultan's turban than the Cardinal's hat', It seems he disagreed with you about the religion . Rolling Eyes As regards customs, it is really not worth bothering with. Anyone, but anyone, who has done elementary reading in the subject knows this. Here is a book by Greek historian, Dmitri Kitzikis , L'Empire Ottoman.

No, why should i?

pan-Turk ideas? Where did you see me promoting such ideas? Read back what you have written kid. It was you claiming the past terrirtories , remembered ? Just like the ex-minister of Greece, Melina Mercouri did.

Konstantinoupolis...and the once glorious church of Agia Sofia, now serves as your museum for toilet paper.DISGRACE...PATHETIC...

Hagia Sofia remains intact, due to the restoration of great Ottoman architects such as , Mehmed Aga and Sinan. Had it not been for their skillfull work, it would have been collapsed long before. By the way do you have any idea about the 17 great mosques of Athens before it fell to Greek rule ? Rolling Eyes None remains today. It is the reason why your government is still discussing the opening of a mosque to Athens, something they couldnt achieve to do for years. Did you say disgrace and pathetic ? Rolling Eyes

Seeing hallucinations ? You could see a doctor, instead of wasting my time : ) who is brain-washed is clear, you have nothing intellectuel to argue, yet all you do is to throw up this garbage propaganda, which is quite shoddy and cheap.

Beware or u r lost for ever...

Too late for you, you are already lost when swimming around endlessly in the same stagnant little selfish hatred pool..

Apparently you know no limits in your bigotry. Here is an opinion from an outsider who spends his time in Turkey: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,1072-1808535,00.html

Yes, It is obvious you have never been here and you have no idea about the realities and living in your fantasy world far from the truths. But what else to expect from someone who says Cyprus is an Asian country. You write something for the sake of writing. I hope for your own countrys sake, you are reflecting a marginal opinion.

wow : )
I only judge what you wrote, and i dont see any sign of knowledge, education etc. in your posts.

silly kid, what does it has to do with the topic? Also believe me so much reading from the ethno-centric point of views is not good, the result would be an obsessed personality for which you are a good example.

I just want to know your opinion without trying to evade the question.
