The lunch time for the workers in England has changed, they only spend 3.5 minutes a day eating their midday meal, what are they doing in their spare time? They are busy with personal things.
A reach pointed out that, most workers split their lunch break into at least seven activities, such as, shopping online and sorting out personal finances. The time for communicating with family becomes less. In fact, it is not only spend in England, in most countries in the world exist this phenomenon. I do not think it is a good tendency, because people need to communicate with each other, especially with their families.
