Could somebody explain me the meaning of the expression "research universities"? I mean, are there universities that don't develop researches? Cause I always believed that all of them did so.
But if all of them do so, why there would be the necessity of calling a university a "research university"? _________________ Stormy Weather. |

clarissa - in USA, i think that most of the larger universities do research, but many, many small universities, or private colleges do not do research. it depends on what the focus of that university is whether they do research or not.
i know that at purdue university (where i an a student), there is research done all of the time in the different engineering departments (many work with medicine and the outer space program), horticulture (plants), and veterinary medicines (animals), but not everyone is involved in that research - like me.
does that help? iitimone7 |
