What's your image of America?

I think that America is wide country and people has freedom. Most people enjoys themselve's life.

Hello! I'm Japanese university student.

I have many images of America.
But ...umm...
I have been to America when I was 14.
My first impression of America was..."Wow! What a big country here is!!"
I felt that Both the sky and the land are BIG beside Japan.
Also, people I met there were liberal to Japanese like me♪
I thoght ... "American people have BIG HEART!"
...I was simple...maybe... Embarassed

Now, I feel America is... "the complex country".

What is my impression about America?

First ,America is one of most democratic and free country in the world,Americans enjoy their lives in many ways.

Second,America is one of most civilized country which their people are educatied well by their education sysstem.

Third,America has most powerful military force in the world which other countries often consider America as world police.

Forth,most Americans love their country and are proud of their country,most Americans are patriotism especially when they sing America national Anthem.

Fifth,America has two prominent parties which they are Republicans and Democrats which the presidents of America have always been either Republicans or Democrats.

America has been in war on terror recently, the States has won two wars,one is Afghansistan war which they overthrew Taliban islamic extreme regime ,another is Iraq war which they overthrew Saddam tyrant regime,now Afghansitan and Iraq both became democratic countris which are allies to the States.

Some dictatorship countries' governments such north Korea and China don't like America's policy,because the states want to push freedom to their countries,Americans believe all human being have rights to express theirselves,worship their beliefs,but these dictatorship countries only want to control their people illegally for good,their governments only care about their power,they control their media ,they censor Internet contents which they consider a threat to their regime.

In short,America is a free ,democratic and prosperous country ,I hope they continue to be,God has given America a very important duty which pushes freedom and democracy to the whole world.Thank America for what you have done to the world .

hELLO I,m spanish girl and I love america so I have never been there.My opinion is maybe not very realistic but I,ll tell you.In america there are a lot of cultures together this is fantastic because this way to eliminate racism I think .IN the same country you can see poor and rich men together also and this open your mind you can sse the reality in the world not always is good ,WELL that,s all ok?

America has a lot of freedom, but many people do not use this freedom smartly and do bad things.

I'm sorry, but I totally disagree with most of you guys. How can you associate the idea of freedom to America? Freedom only for themselves, if so!

How can we call democratic a country that is capable of invading others based on lies (did anybody found out any mass destruction weapons in Iraq? I think the answer is no!)?

I see America as a divided nation: some people are really progressive and open-minded, and they probably disagree with Bush's administration, cause it's ruining their society and only fuelling the war; but others are just stupid Homer-Simpson-like dumbs that totally agree with all the destruction their nation is causing to the rest of the world, cause it's done "in the name of the war against terrorism".

I'm totally against terrorism and I really hope Osama Bin Laden is arrested and condemned as he should. But what he did can't be used as an excuse for all the damage and pain the USA has been causing in the Middle East.

The source of the common denominator is the Middle East.
If you have a problem with wasps you go to the nest.
You cannot blame the USA for attempting to secure the safety of its citizens.
