I encounter many situations where I have to express somthing like
"Until when/ time" "By what time" with
I have to return the book?
I have to return it to get full refund?
I have to arrive there not to be late?
I have to turn in the paper?
Do I have to com back?
and so on.
There may be some specific answers for each situation (i.g. when is the paper due?). But are there any common expressions I could use
for most situations having this kind of function. Thank you in advance. |

The easiest one I can think of is 'when... by...'.
'When do I have to return the book by?'
'When do I have to return it by to get a/the full refund?'
'When do I have to arrive there by to not be late?'
'When do I have to turn in the paper by?'
'When do I have to come back by?'
You could also put the by in front of the when instead: 'By when do I have to return the book?' This is formal, though. |
