Dear Teachers,
1. I think she may have already moved on to someone new, so I dont want to get in the way.
- What does get in the way mean here?
2. A couple of weeks ago they called on the phone, pissed as all hell.
- What does pissed as all hell mean here?
Thanks a bunch to Teachers,

To get in the way, means that if she has a new boyfriend, he does not want to interfere with the new relationship.
Pissed as hell means either, very angry, or very drunk.
The difference may be between American English (angry) or English English (drunk).
I think, normally, the English would say pissed off, if they meant angry. |
