Dear helper,
I came across such a multiple choice
There used to be a high tower there,______?
A. was there B. wasn't there C. used there D. usedn't there
The given answer is D! But I am quite puzzled why answer B is wrong!
Your immediate and detailed explanation will be highly appreciated!

Most natural:
"There used to be a high tower there, didn't there?"
If I had to choose from your four choices, I would pick B. Someone might say it that way. No one would say A, C, or D. And D is particularly bad because no one would say "usedn't there" in any context. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

| Hi! I hear people say 'usedn't there' on occasion, in England that is. I'd agree with CP that 'didn't there' is usually paired with 'used to' though. |
