This occurs in elementary school's English textbook.
Someone says:"We have a barbecue on Moon Festival. And we watch the moon, too."

Why does he say "too"?

If we correct it like this:"We have a barbecue and watch the moon." Is this better?

Your sentence is fine, TCC. It is neither better nor worse than the original, but it is slighly different, in my opinion.

Adding "too" at the end of the sentence gives it (watching the moon) a little more emphasis, a little more importance. The sentence is fine without "too," but then watching the moon seems not quite as important. Again, that's just my opinion, but I hope it helps.
