A: Did you see him last night?
B: Not *that* I recall.

What does *that* mean?

2.
.....to *insecticize* American womenhood......
to minimalize??

3.

Whenever you have your camera with you, be on the lookout
for *opportunity photos*.

What about *photo opportunities*?

Thanks

1. Good question! Well, "that" does not refer to anything, so it really means nothing. I think the only purpose for "that" is to make the sentence grammatical. It's similar to saying, "It's raining," where "It" doesn't really refer to anything.

2. Yes, or even worse - to stigmatize womanhood or to make it seem unappealing.

3. In my opinion, switching the words around chnages the meaning.

Opportunity photo - To me, this is a rare opportunity. Maybe it'd be seeing your favorite singer walking out of a restaurant, and there you are, 6 meters away.

Photo opportunity - This would be any opportunity for a good photo. A ship in the river, the light reflecting off a building, etc.

(Others may not agree, though, and I can't give a good reason for what I wrote!)
