I was going to say Sun Tzu, but I just read that he may not have truly existed (the famous book The Art of War actually being written by many generals and philosophers). So I have to say Jackie Chan since more people know pop-culture actors than historical figures like Mao.

BTW, Bruce Lee was an American citizen! (born in California, raised in Kowloon {HK}, went to univeristy in Seattle). Cool

i voted for jackie chan because i think most people know him, especially adolescents.. Wink
but i also know mao (by name only, i don't know exactly what he's done or said, but i know that he's a very famous chinese person) and ziyi zhang, she's this beautiful actress who played in such films like "Tiger and dragon", "house of the flying daggers", "hero", "2046", "rush hour".
bruce lee i know also, this famous martial arts star, but the others i have never heard, or i don't remember.. can you tell me who they are?
greets Smile

I don't think Chairman Mao is a "celebrity". A famous person yes, but can't really say celebrity (world leaders aren't usually called celebrities, although I know Arnold Schwarzenegger is a govener Smile ). But if we are talking about famous Chinese people that non-Chinese people know, how about 孔子 (kong zi) or Confucius as we know him???
