I have heard of the leg extensions but have no real proof of it. But I do know that many jobs have specific height requirements. for example teachers have to be more than 5 foot 3 (If I remember right). And stewardess on planes have to be 5 foot 6. These requirements are often stated in the written job describtion.

As for universities having this policy I've never seen it enforced but I wouldn't be surprised if for certain majors it exists. If not blatantly but at least secretly.

about 80 years ago, almost every Chinese woman had to have their feet bound. we call that "footbinding", and that was horrible! in those years, women suffered from enormous pains when having their feet bound. broken bones, misshappen feet, a difficult step... all those ridiculous things was just for an aim: to please men, to please the society, because the society thought the footbound women were beautiful.

Today, the footbinding has been abolished. but new restraction came out. it's about heignt. yes, I have heard that some companies requires certain height when hiring employees. frankly, I wouldn't take the horrible operation if I am searching for a job. that's insane. I would select some company that dosen't require height.

I knew " leg extensions " in China already. It takes over one year and you have to live in your room, every actions were in one place. Over year live seperately with outside work Sad Sad . The only way you can keep in touch with social by the internet. You have to get sore. Imagination....you have to live in that situation...terrible Sad . But the consequence is good or bad, who know? I think it depends on how lucky you are. And if your leg extension is too long, how is the well proportioned your body? Actually i'm not brave to do this Sad Sad

Sometimes the height obsesses many people, if you are high you will get many good advantages: First is about your apparence, second is find a job that require the high ( e.g: flight attendant...)...That doesnt mean if you are short you will not apply a job. If you are really intelligent, confident...and a little bit luck Laughing Laughing

Hey, why does a person need to be tall to be a flight attendant? Or to do any other job? I don't get it!

Excepting for catwalk models and basket/volleyball players, I had never heard of any job which needs people to be tall.

What is a tall person in China? I'm 1,73 cm (or 5.68 feet). Am I considered tall in China?

I'm considered normal in Brazil.

If I am tall, my daughter is a giant! She's 3 by now and she's already 1,02 cm (or 3.31 feet).

No need for "sour grapes" honey. ClarissaMach is a spicy Brazilian, and you're a sweet little Asian dish. It's a two course feast for the most discriminating of men.
