Hi Akie Sakabe,

let me assume that I understand your quastion ...

What foods can you not eat during Ramadan?
Ramadan is fasting month for all Muslim ,from or before sun rise till the sun set .., it is not allowed to eat or drink any thing during this peorid for one month ..The main reason to do that every year is to remember the poor people how they suffer with out food , to help poor people and do something good for poor..

What foods do people have after Ramadan?
After fasting , means after sunset : it is depends on the culture ways ...Usually we eats some dates and coffee "warm" , some soup "warm "also , the warm food is recommended for the stomach after long fasting .

What foods do you eat during Ramadan?
During Ramadan , do you mean during the day ? it is prohibited to do so ..if you are a Muslim ...
For non Muslims it is from the respectable point of you that they should not to show their food to the fasting people during day time....
If you are traveling on a long road and you feel very tired or it will cause some effect in your life, you are allowed(recommended) to eat and drink ,but you have to fast it before coming Ramadan next year.

I hope I answered your quastions .

KMM

I think I understand the question. Let me re-phrase.

You can eat after sundown during the month or Ramadan. Are there any tradtional foods you eat during that time that you do not normally eat at other times of the year?
Are there certain types of food forbidden during Ramadan that you cannot or traditionally do not eat at that time even after sundown that is permitted during the rest of the year?

Let me just point out that fasting during Ramadan is only obligatory on every adolescent Muslim, who is able to fast. One who has not yet reached the age of puberty, or is mentally disabled, or ill (i.e. they need to take medicine during the day, or just are not able to fast because it will affect their health in a bad way) does not have to fast. In fact, if fasting has a very bad affect on someone's health, one shouldn't fast, because in Islam, anything that causes harm to one's self is prohibited. Also, one who is travelling is excused from fasting (though he may fast if he really wishes to), because it may cause him hardship. Even if it doesn't, he doesn't have to.

Yes some cultures have some traditional foods that are eaten during Ramadan (i.e. samosas, certain soups) that are not actually part of Ramadan or religion and have only come with tradition. But that is not to say that they aren't eaten at all throughout the rest of the year, they are just more common in Ramadan.

Nope.
