About relative pronouns, is it always necessary to use THAT when it works as a relative pronoun? For example a sentence like:
He promised that he wouldnt get a job like this.
Could we erase it ? When ?
Thanks in advance ! |

Many times "that" can be omitted and it can be omitted in your sentence.
Sometimes "that" cannot be omitted because doing so will change the meaning or make the sentence unclear or incorrect in some way.
'I know a restaurant that serves great apple pie.' If you omit "that" in this sentence, the sentence will imply that all restaurants serve great apple pie. |
