Dear Teachers,
1. If he goes to work late again, employers will dump him on the spot.
- dump him on the spot here means fire him at once, right?
2. You can tell him it isnt imperative that he gets a job during the school year. Perhaps the summer is a better time when all of his classes are out of the way.
- his class are out of the way here means his classes dont work until a new school year, right?
Thanks a lot to Teachers,
Stevenukd. |

1. Yes.
2. Yes. (But we wouldn't say "his classes don't work until..." One way to say it is, "his classes are over/finished until...") |

One small correction: Rather than "it isnt imperative that he gets a job," it should be, "it isnt imperative that he get a job." That's the subjunctive.
It is imperative that she find her make-up before the contest.
It is a must that he make good grades. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
