|

Hi native teachers,
A very happy new year, I'm afraid it is too late to greet, though.
What bothers me the first thing in the new year is whether or not the
following expression is correct.
(In technical writing about an optical disk)
The firdt recording region (layer) is made to be in an unrecorded state.
In my understanding, the verb "record" suggests to regist or enter information in (into) a medium; thus, unrecorded region (layer) sounds
very fanny to me. Am I too square?
Best regards
