Dear Teachers,
1. He likes me for a companion.
- He just likes me as a friend, right?
2. What it always comes down to is what you as an individual want or need from a relationship.
- What does what it always comes down to mean?
Thanks a lot to Teachers,

1. Yes (but I'd replace "for" with "as").
2. In all cases, when all the factors are considered, the only important ones [are what you want and need from a relationship].
In other words, it's a phrase that "boils down" an issue to its essence. There are other factors that confuse the issue, but they are not actually important. |

"He just likes me as a friend." also means he isn't interested in me as a special girlfriend. |
