The Amazon jungle is the largest tropical jungle in the world, spreading over 9 South American countries. 30 percent of the Earth's trees are here and the total area is estimated to be 7 million square kilometers, which is approximately 70 times the size of Korea. It is 30 times larger than both North and South Korea put together. The Amazon River begins in the Andean Mountains and runs toward the Atlantic Ocean. It is approximately 6,300 kilometers long. A boat could sail roughly 80,000 km through the river, (A)[which/where] tens of thousands of fish swim up and down.

Which one is more correct, "which" or "where" at (A)?

Use "where" is for places and "which" for things. Which do you think is the correct answer? Smile

A boat could sail roughly 80,000 km through the river, (A)[in which/where] tens of thousands of fish swim up and down.

In this instance, 'in which' can be used in place of 'where'.
