Hello Teachers,
I always get confused while framing sentences with the words HELP and MAKE.
1. I will help him * do that.
2. I will make him * do that task.
shouldn't it be " I will help him TO do that". "I will make him TO do that work"? I completely don't understand this. Please hep me.
Thanks in anticipation. _________________ Thanks and Regards,

No, 1 and 2 are correct without "to". |

Thanks for the help... Can you explain gramatically why we should not use "TO" in the sentence? _________________ Thanks and Regards,

You can add "to" in #1 but it is really not needed, so it is best not to add "to". Native speakers generally don't use "to" in that sentence.
You cannot add "to" in #2! "make him to do..." means that you will make a person, specifically him, for the purpose of having him "do that task". Since no (single) person can make another person, you cannot add "to" in sentence #2. |
