b7lake again, Your last 3 sentences have the S+V+C structure. (I assume that 'C' stands for 'complement', as opposed to 'object'.) That is true because those 'V's' (seems, is) are used as linking verbs. #2 and #3 have adjective complements, while #4 has a noun complement. #1 is different: that is a passive voice sentence. 'Is' goes with past participle 'said' to form the passive-ness. No 'C' here. Ok? -Eric |
