As far as I know, #2 is correct. But I've seen #1 in a book. Which one is right?

I think your book is wrong.
You can cause someone pain.
You can cause someone to do something.
But you can't cause to someone .... _________________ I'm never going to learn if you don't correct my mistakes! |
