Hello, teachers.
When you grilled some kinds of meat such as beaf, pork and chicken at a barbecue party,
do you say "I grilled meat." or "I grilled meats."?
Thank you in advance!

I would say that 'I grilled meats." is rarely if ever said. 'Meat' is usually a singular noun. It is common to say, "I grilled some meat.', but we usually want to say what kind of meat we cooked.
You can say, 'I grilled some (beef), (chicken) (fish).' If you grilled more than one kind of meat, you can say, as in your example, 'I grilled some beef, pork and chicken.' You can also say, 'I grilled several kinds of meat.' |
