I like Andrea Bocelli. He has good voice and not only that, he writes himself! Check out Con te Partiro aka Time to Say Goodbye if you don't believe this guy's ability.
In terms of sheer singing power though, that enigmatic Vitas from Russia got me picking up my jaws from the floor. Check out his Opera #2. He could probably outsing Mariah Carey if he really wants to. |

As Anika say Bon Jovi is a very good band (I really like his music) but for me GUNS N' ROSES despite of the time are THE BEST ...OH YES

My favorite band is Iron Maiden. One of the greatest in music history definitely. I also love Yann Tiersen (for those unfamiliar with him, he is the guy that did the soundtrack for the movie Amelie).

I like Euros Child, (or some may know his Ex-group Gorky's Zygotic Mynci)
Colin Meloy, from my all time favorite band, The Decemberists. It's like listening to English Literature in song form. With there songs about Chimbley sweeps, Gypsies, and tales of Mariners just inspire me.
Also, I love System of a Down's Polically accurate music. Surje is just a great song writer, and singer.
And, those are the three main ones there.
There's also Franz Ferdinand, Nuetral Milk Hotel, etc..etc.

These days, I like instrumental music. It crosses all borders and speaks to everyone. My favs generally fall into the realm of electronica-techno-jazz:
The Crystal Method - Heavy beats and effects, raver style, lots of variety, huge in the USA
Amon Tobin - The master of percussion, with cool jazz and effects mixed in, big deal in Europe
John Daniel Winters - beats like TCM, jazz like Tobin, mostly with an acoustic guitar, a rising star in this arena.
This is not music for masses, think of it as the polar opposite of pop, but still very entertaining. - CW |
