let's post our opinions of metal bands at this topic!

DREAM THEATER the best prog metal band ever!!!

Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath should be at first, as they're the ones who just invented the Metal itself.

hmmm, well, I can't say this bands are the best but it's my taste  I prefer something like Rammstein, Angra and Slipknot, some musics of another bands like Metallica and even Iron Maiden, but not all of them.

Megadeth is the best, after it, come Iron Maiden, Metallica, Black Sabbath, M�go de OZ, Norther, and I don't remember what more...

Metal Rules
Metal isn't dying, heavy metal is getting stronger than all. Metal isn't like these other styles of music, that people are listening today and tomorow they already forgotten.
Dream Theater is the best Prog Metal band ever, Iron Maiden and Black sabbath aren't prog metal.
I like power metal, I think power metal is on the rise nowadays. What do you think? |

| I don't like Dream Theater, of course they are a great band and john petrucci it's one of the best guitar players actually, but Train of thoght was a poor CD, and octavarium was not much different. Their best album i think it's Images and words. |

Arch Enemy is really cool melodic death metal band. I have begin to like death metal when I heared "We will Rise" and others songs from "Anthems Of Rebellion".
Lake of Tears so is a great band. When I heared their albums first, I don't liked "Greater Art" and "Blackbrickroad". But some days ago I have decide to listen these albums again, and I was really surprised because I have begun like it very much!

Ohhh I love Dream Theater, my favorit album is Scenes From a Memory. I think that John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy are the bests.
I also like Power Metal bands as: Mago de Oz, Angra, Shaman, Sonata Arctica, Tuatha de Danann...
And a little bit of Trhash Metal: Slayer, Pantera...
But my favorite band at the moment is Angra. I listen a CD with my selection of the bests their musics every day. xD

I agree with you. The older rock/metal bands are better than the new ones.... I think the new bands can�t play instruments like the older bands.... where can I find a good guitar player like Adrian Smith, Tony Iommy or Dave Mustaine?? Do you think Linkin Park's guitar player can play an Iron Maiden's song?...... |

I like metal but I don't really know all those different kinds of metal. To me, metal is metal LOL. I can either like it or not. I don't know how but I seem to like some musics better than others yet I can't define what's it that I like in a certain song or not. I don't know too many bands either =S.
My favorite band? I like System of a down, whatever kind of metal it is(or it may not be metal at all but anyway, I think it is). Their first CD is the best in my opinion. I like RA for the few musics of them that I've had the chance to hear already. And some random musics from other bands

If you don't like metal music then you shouldn't have replied here. Learn to respect other peoples musical tastes as you would like people to respect yours. By the way, did you say Roberto Carlos? eeeeeew! Now That stinks! (just kidding, you have the right to like it as much as I have the right to like metal) =P

The metal bands from the 80's such as Megadeth and Iron maiden are some of my favourites too. And they still keep going on..

Yeah Apocalyptica are so awesome. They will be doing a couple of gigs in Turkey this month, I hope I will be able to go and see them. I really look forward to waching them live!

Metal is the best kind of music, no other kind can reach the patamar of metal...
And about DreamTheather(This is wrongxD)...I prefer SLipknot, Fear FActory and this kind...DeathMetal...
