Although I'am not gay, I'am interested in your opinion about this subject, because being gay in my county is very TABOO!
Peace! |

In america its been some what accepted, most people are ok with it but a lot of religous groups are very against it. Over all its been excepted by mainstream culture but since the issue of Gay marriage was raised there's been a lot more controversy. |

In Brazil things are more or less like America, according to what Ducky described. Of course very religious people don't approve it, but they would never do any harm to a homosexual.
Some of my best friends are gay. _________________ Stormy Weather. |

Gay people are living a poor life in China. here people usually can't stand them, just because they are the minority.
However, they deserve a better life in my opinion. after all, they are the same human being as us, why can't they live with their beloved partners?
Here in China, gay people dare not reveal their sex orientation. if people know they are gay, then those gay people would receive some invisible pressure from people, and that will make their lives very difficult. |

In Germany people accept gays. And they give them so many advantages that sometimes you also want to be gay. |

Haha! I don't think you should become a gay just because you can receive any advantage
Imagine: if in China, lesbians might live a rich life without working(of course, that's never gonna happen), I still wouldn't like to become a lesbian, because it's very painful for me to make out with another woman. I always prefer a man. |

Really?
Gosh, I never knew that!
Yeah, in America it really varies from place to place (generally more democratic areas like New York or thereabouts will be more accepting, and places like Texas will be less accepting). Many of the religious groups still have problems with it, but I think many Americans (or most well-educated Americans) have no problem with gay people.
There are some hate-terms going around resulting from this though. If someone does something lame or stupid, you might hear someone say "that's so gay" or "he's so gay" (even if the person is not a homosexual).
It's awful. I refrain from using those terms. _________________ peace-monger |

oh? then here that's so gay actually means an insult?
Even in an open country like US, there is some kind of discrimination towards gay people, no wonder gay people can't live a good life. |

Is it true that Europeans see this issue in a much opener view than Americans? e.g. gay pop bands are acceped more widely in Europe than in America (like the British band Pet Shop Boys); Some European countries have already approved gay marriage while America is still arguing on that. |

then he is not a qualified gay
and he is the worst gay in the world
then I would tell him:"what's the matter with you?" |

very true, but teenagers here also use "being gay" as an insult. _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I also love everyone else inside you, I love the whole world because of you, I also love myself inside you." -- Erich Fromm, the Art of Love |
