Guys, here is a painting, some people call it an art work. but I don't think so. I don't see why it's art. for me, it's just a mess.
What do you think?

Aesthetics are hard to understand in all sensual matters like art, music, food, sex, and so forth. It's all so subjective.
for example - some people like blue cheese, some people hate it; some people like 臭豆腐, some people hate it.
Like you, I would agree that the example of visual art you gave doesn't quite suit my taste. However, I can conceive of a style of person that would like it. _________________ Daniel

Turtle, IMHO, this painting is about a woman who had one of her boobs cut because of her breast cancer. therefore, we can see just another breast of hers.
and this women has the dirtiest skin in the world, I guess she just needs a fine shower. |

I would say it's a woman lying in some lake or river and her left boob looks out of the water. You see there are also branches of tree swimming. _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I also love everyone else inside you, I love the whole world because of you, I also love myself inside you." -- Erich Fromm, the Art of Love |

I think it's a dead corpse putting into water after some criminals killed her. Maybe they have raped her because otherwise she wouldn't lay in the river naked. _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I also love everyone else inside you, I love the whole world because of you, I also love myself inside you." -- Erich Fromm, the Art of Love |

thank you rr you see there are even plants swimming beside the left boob this indicates that the place is somewhere outside near the trees, so lake is very fitting here, as the body becomes green inside the water. If the corpse is in the sea it will rather become blue than green.
The head is falling down into the water signalizing she must be dead at that time.
Again the plants, her noticeable rips and the fact that she floats (a recently died corpse sinks because the breath organs has to much water, later fermentation gas developes) and it floates the corpse. _________________ If I say "I love you" to someone, then I also have to say "I also love everyone else inside you, I love the whole world because of you, I also love myself inside you." -- Erich Fromm, the Art of Love |

Gah! No more Steven King movies for you, young man!
I see a woman standing behind a smoky semi-translucent plate of glass, leaning up against it so that only her left boob is pressed against it. I don't know enough about art history to know about this painting or artist, but I suspect it was done by a European artist who may have seen this exact scene at an Amsterdam red light district. |

Some people would say that art is something that provokes discussion - and, well...
I do quite like it though - the colours are are amazing (especially the blues) and there's a lot of texture in it. I agree with Bob about the glass, it looks as though there's a lot of condensation on the outside in places, and there seems to be an edge of a golden frame running along the top of the painting. The person (I'm not even sure it's a woman - the breast isn't particularly defined and the torso looks quite masculine) looks to me like they're wearing clothing (you can see creases lower down) which could be a dress or some kind of tunic. And that object to the right looks completely different, it's very clearly defined whereas the rest of the painting is very blurred and indistinct - looks like a bird to me. You can see the head, with the eye and beak (with a nostril) at the top and colourful plumage flowing down to a long fanned tail. That's how it looks to me, anyway. Perhaps the red is blood, and the bird's attacking or feeding on the person?
Definitely interesting! |

if so, it is the cut breast that we see... And the rest does not exist with only one breast. |
