Hello! I'm 19 years old and Japanese female.I like reading books very much.
My favorite book is "Anne Of Green Gables".This is the work of Canadian novelist,Lucy Maud Montgomery.
When I was a junior high school student,I bought a book to write a report about my impression after reading. It was my homework in summer vacation. The title that I decided and bought was "Anne Of Green Gables".
The story is very heart-warming and Anne is so cute. And the scene of this story is Prince Edward Island(P.E.I).This island is really beautiful!!I want to go there someday!
If you haven't read yet, please read once :D

There is actually a whole series that goes with Anne of Green Gables. I have it and it's great! There are maybe eight or so books and they go through the rest of her life. There are also other books by the same author that take place in the same area and follow the same style. I believe some are about Anne's children or relatives possibly.

Hi Toe, nice to meet you!! Very Happy
I have to admit that I dont use to read so much but Im trying to develop English lectures taste in order to improve my English skills. I have read two novels: Sons of Fortune and Anne of Green Gables . Last weekend I started to read The Vinci Code. Shocked
After finish it I try to follow your suggestions about Anne
What about you? Are you a good reader?

hi taurus! it's nice to meet you, too!

you're in costa rica--i have a distant cousin who was a missionary there in the late 1970's. he and his family really loved living there; they said it was beautiful!

to answer your question--i love to read! i love the author Amy Tan. but mostly i read non-fiction books, about writing. i used to be in a writer's group here in my town. (i have lots of stories in my imagination.) i also like poetry. ee cummings is my favorite poet. do you like poetry?

i'm glad that you are reading books in english--it will really help strengthen your confidence. i have not read the Da Vinci Code, but a friend of mine told me that he is enjoying it.

^__^

Hi Toe! How are you doing? Laughing
What does Amy Tan write? Could you give me some of the names of hers novels? Im pass through for a lectures period! One and a half month ago I started a English course and I decided to take advantage of it For this reason Im reading and listening as much as I can! I dont have much free time but I try! Worse is nothing! Laughing
Hey you are writer! Congratulations! You must be very creative person!! What are you written about? I like poetry a little bit! Sometimes I used to think that I have a very low level of culture because I dont like classical music, jazz, opera or thins like that. Well, I think this is something that I could correct with the time!! Wink
Can I make a question? What are you do? Are you an University student?
Bye. Have a nice day!!
Very Happy

hello taurus Smile

i'm fine, how are you today?
no, i'm not a student--i am a freelance graphic designer. i design posters and brochures and things like that for people. i'm also a painter--i'm putting a 19 ft. mural on a wall at my church. (i should be working on that right now as a matter of fact...shhh!) Laughing

amy tan wrote The Kitchen God's Wife, The Joy Luck Club--have you seen the movie by any chance? i loved it!

i hope things are going well for you at work, and that you are getting more comfortable speaking english there!

Very Happy
toe
p.s. i don't like jazz either! and i don't know if i could sit through an entire opera! but there are so many other things in this big world that are cultural and worthwhile---art is everywhere! Smile
