legs:
there are 6 men --> 6x2 = 12 legs
there are 6 baskets (no legs) with 6 cats --> 6x6x4 = 144 legs
there are 6x6x6 kitten with 4 legs --> 6x6x6x4 = 864 legs |
Oops! Almost.
There are 36 baskets, each with 6 cats.
So 6x6x6x4=?
As for kittens,
6x6x6x6x4=?

Right, the person is holding a picture of his/her son. |

hmm.. i know this number's riddle but i forgot how it can be solved but i came this far (you mustn't think mathematically )
each line describes the previous line, the first line has one 1 --> 11 in the second line. the second line has two 1 --> 21 in the third line.
1 --> one 1 (for the next line)
11 --> two 1 (")
21 --> one two and two 1
1211 --> one 1, one 2, two 1
111221 --> same pattern
312211
13112221 --> one 1 one 3 two 1 three 2 one 1
--> next line has to be: 1113213211
hope this is right..

the riddle was like that: If you have 6 men and each has 6 baskets. Each baskets has 6 cats inside and each cat has 6 kittens. Assuming all are whole and healthy. How many legs are there?
I overread the sentence "and each has 6 baskets", i just thought each one would have only one basket so with 6 men there would be 6 baskets. but as each of these 6 men has 6 baskets there are 6x6 = 36 baskets.. i forgot to multiply with another six
okay?

Oh, "i thought each man has only one basket, so there were six baskets at all.. yep, reading is difficult" is talking about the riddle how many legs there...I missed the riddle so........
The word "each" is difficult to "read out"? |

There is an old riddle that is well known in England.
As I was going to St. Ives, (A place in Cornwall England)
I met a man with seven wives.
Each wife had a cat,
Each cat had a kit (kitten)
How many were going to St Ives?
Can you work that one out?
Here is another one:
One duck in front of a duck
One duck behind a duck.
And a duck in the middle.
How many ducks? |

Here is a silly riddle that I sometimes use to annoy small children.
Question: How many times is a duck?
Answer: One of its legs is both the same. |

Why? Is it relative to "one" and "a"? |
