mostly used for men but i don't know whether there's an equivalent for women.. i think you could use it for females, too, if necessary. but guy is also rather used for men, i believe.

My interpretation of my own phrase:
I said that I was in a bad mood than snake, then I meaned that my mood was not good. 
That's the deeper meaning of my phrase.
